THE STINGER “CUBS FUN RUN” and “Little Stingers” Dash

We want the Nettlebed Stinger to inspire the next generation of runners, therefore, the Stinger organisers are super excited to be adding the “Stinger Cubs run” and “little stingers” dash to the event schedule.

We thank Peppard Building Supplies for sponsoring our Children’s races in 2024

The Little stinger

The “little stinger” – start time 9am

A ‘ little stinger” dash of approx. 200m will be held within the walled garden for under 6’s.  All competitors will be awarded a medal as they cross the finishing line!

Who can take part?

Children aged 6 and under (on race day).  If your child has special circumstances, please contact us so that we can make exceptions.

Stinger Cubs Run

The “stinger cubs run” – start time 9.15am

A 2km multi-terrain route with some steady ups and downs.  Our Stinger cub runners will walk to the start line a short way from the school and they will finish in the walled garden, through the finishing chute to rapturous applause from proud parents and supporters!

Who can take part?

Children from 4yrs – 15yrs of age (on race day) can register.  Any child aged 6 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the run. If you have any concerns that your child may struggle with the distance, please arrange for an adult to run/walk with them regardless of age as marshals are not able to walk every child back to the finish.  Any parent/guardian participating with their child does so at their own risk.

This is very much a fun run to introduce and encourage children to participate in running, so whilst we will be timing it, the results are not ‘official’.  Small prizes will be awarded to the first three finishers as well as a few spot prizes…

We regret, the route is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs and dogs are not permitted.

Entry to both races will be £5 per child, including race number and finishers medal.  Only those children with an official race number will be able to take part.

You must read the T&C’s prior to entry and confirm that you have read them as you register.

All entrants must be accompanied at the event by a responsible adult.

  • Please note: We will e-mail race related updates to the e-mail address you use to register with.

Should your child wish to raise money for a charity of their choice, we will waive the entry fee if you/they can show evidence of fundraising a minimum of £20 by either:

  • Bringing a paper fundraising form with the money collected to the registration desk
  • Showing us your online fundraising page

Any children who would like to fundraise for the FONS playground appeal can download the sponsorship form below or become part of the Stinger Champions fundraising team by setting up their own fundraising page here
